Unit chief optimistic about Boeing's future

Unit chief optimistic about Boeing's future: "We waited on the 787 until we had a set of technologies we really felt was more valuable, so we clearly lost some sales. We're going through a transition here. We'll come back. "

The 787 is the ultimate in a smaller airplane that can go long range comfortably and efficiently and connect another 500 to 1,000 city pairs around the world. It's about taking people where they want to go directly with a lot less time (from no connections) and a lot more efficiently. You'll see it flying Phoenix to Shanghai.
