737NG

Airliners.net Civil Aviation: 747 Advanced Review By Boeing Today!: "Gigneil - give it up. Now you're making stuff up...

Better Avionics
The A320 series features an avionics suite 7 years newer than the 737NG.
The A320 is a mid '80's design .vs. a mid-late 90's design. And the A320 series is only now starting to offer the advanced LCD technology basic to the 737NG. The display system is also customizable to match either EFIS or PFD/ND displays with their other fleets. The only a/c offering an advanced CAT III capable HUD.

Better Fuel Burn
I don't know where the figures quoted above came from, but past issues of Avitas have shown the 737NG and A320 series to be almost identical in regards, and they swap back and forth in terms of op cost.
This is BS as Avitas only reports a blended average of what airlines report. Operators with experience flying both consistently report better fuel burn for the NG.

Better Economics
Same argument..
Again - wrong. The 737NG ranges between 4.8% - 5.1% better than it's A320 series counterpart in cash direct operating costs and about an equal benefit in trip costs!

Better residual value
Perhaps. There are a lot less of them.
Now this is just getting stupid. The more aircraft of a given type usually leads to improved residual value, not less. The A320 series suffers from poor residuals due to:
a) multiple engines types (CFM56-5/V2500/PW) .vs. single CFM56-7 type.
b) Airbus has been overproducing and hugely discounted deals like EasyJet, AirAsia that reduces the value of existing airplanes for those who previously bought them (like me!!)

Better Quick Turn Capability
This is just made up. A320s with containers are obviously much faster to turn. You don't really have a metric for this or any w"
